Psycho de/Dhanit Kidane Mhret Monastery
This monastery is located in Ebnat district in Gonder zone. If you drive approximately 17km east of the district capital Ebnat, you will reach Hala Salamaya Lankob, a rural town with fresh air. It takes a 2:00 hour walk to reach the monastery from here in Hala. This ancient monastery is a holy monastery that is surrounded by the mountain of Water Spring in the north, Mount Salam in the south, Mount Debit in the east and Mount Walad in the west. It is said that the intercession of Father Father Temple Christ was in 1587 AD. The name of the monastery is derived from the Geez word Sewere Ako, which means the one who lived or was hidden. This name is given because the monastery is surrounded by four mountains in the shape of a cross. The founder of the monastery, Abba Mkedesa Christ, left Armachho, Mogena and Mercy, and came to this country. Since the place was a forest, he stayed with Mercy without anyone seeing him. When a man named Walley, a native of the country, went into the forest to hunt animals, the monk saw smoke from the area where he was, so he went to him and greeted them and asked them where they came from. This local man named Wali also brought a big bull and slaughtered it and offered it to them to eat. But he wanted to use the bull for farming, but the bull was not suitable for farming and became a sleeper. He comes back from where he is busy and spends the night with them. This bull goes around every day and guards the place called Be Samir, and then returns to the temple, so it is called Be Samir. He sighed and fell asleep again from the same place. He died immediately, and the bull that surrounded him remained the property of the monastery. There are many different historical and spiritual shrines in the monastery. In addition, the monastery is covered by forest and is contributing a significant role in maintaining the natural balance.
